In the steady news diet of gloom and despair, every year Images and Voices of Hope Summits celebrate journalism that gives people hope. At one of our Summits, Geri Weis-Corbley shared her Good News Network portal, a place to find uplifting stories. Her stories are the part of what's going on in the world that doesn't get the same kind of front page attention. This weekend Geri herself landed on the front page of the Style section of the Washington Post. The profile on Geri reveals how hungry people are for some positive information. Geri's been at it for 12 years now. Suddenly she's getting a big spike in traffic as more people than ever search for news about what's going right, not just what's going wrong.

I have had the privilege of visiting Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. I've been very impressed by the many successful CARE projects that address the enormous need for food security, clean water, AIDS treatment and education.
