IVOH World Summit 2011 Showcase

Here's the form to fill out if you'd like to participate!

The 2011 IVOH World Summit is around the corner and we’re hoping that you will come! Put the date on your calendar, September 15-18, 2011. Our theme this year
is Mind•Full Media.

We are looking for suggestions of media makers whose work might serve as a focal point for ongoing dialogue about our theme.

This year we will be hosting a Pecha Kucha to showcase the work of emergent media makers.
Pecha-Kucha (pronounced Pe chaw ka cha) was created in Japan and has become a cultural phenomenon.

Pecha-Kucha is a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds each. The images are projected on a screen; they are forwarded automatically and the presenter talks along to the images. If it is a film with narration or music, the presenter would select a 6 minute clip to show. The result is a very concise, precisely choreographed presentation with maximum impact. There will be 8 presentations during the one-hour Pecha-Kucha portion of the summit.

If you or a media maker you know would like to present during our Pecha-Kucha segment, please fill out our simple form and we'll contact you with further information. All submissions will be reviewed by our managing team to be sure they meet the criteria central to this year’s theme. IVOH will contact the selected presenters to review the specific presentation requirements.

The work should fall into one of these four tracks:
Journalism; Advertising & Marketing; Arts & Culture; or Video/Computer Gaming.
The presentation should demonstrate open source or collaborative content creation by media makers.

The application deadline is August 20, 2011.

We can’t wait to get your suggestions for some of the amazing media makers you have come across in your travels or of your own work if you are an emergent media maker.

All of us at Images & Voices of Hope really appreciate your ideas - you are what keeps IVOH alive!  Thank you so much and have a fabulous summer!
