Lead ivoh and change the world of storytelling
By ivoh staff
ivoh is a global network of artists, journalists, gamers, marketers and storytellers who believe the stories we tell create the world we live in. We seek a bold leader to help us inspire and support storytellers who serve the world. We believe stories, told through media, articles, images or art, can restore hope to communities and re-connect people in today’s divided world.
As our executive director, you will lead a growing movement of media creators who focus on society’s strengths as the starting point for solutions to the big problems facing us – inequality, climate change, injustice, mass migration and more. At ivoh, we support restorative narrative, solutions journalism and other approaches to making stories relevant and meaningful.
We bring together media makers of all types to examine as a community how our work influences the world. We use dialogue and reflection to develop our capacity for telling stories that restore balance and hope. We gather in local groups, hold an annual summit, share stories on the web and social properties, give awards and support training and fellowships.
ivoh is a networked, entrepreneurial organization with reach across the globe. Our staff works collaboratively from various locations, so our executive director can work from a home office anywhere in the US. ivoh thrives because its community of supporters and practitioners is passionate, committed and highly successful.
Our new leader will ideally have experience building and leading networked organizations, believe in the power of group dialogue and personal reflection, and have skill in cultivating lasting partnerships. Candidates should be comfortable working with a national staff and board and have a track record of successfully raising funds for a non-profit.
Our executive director supervises two staff, works with member volunteers and a world-class board of directors, and oversees a fellowship program, an annual international summit of media creators, the creation of ivoh local hubs around the country, international partnerships, a website and awards highlighting strength-based storytelling, and a social network of supporters and fans.
Board member Ann DeMarle, associate dean for emergent media at Champlain College, is leading the search committee. Our network is filled with remarkable, award-winning media makers who generously share their gifts with us and each other. We are asking them now to help in our search for a new leader.
If you are interested in leading ivoh, send a cover letter, your resume and three references to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will respond to every applicant.
