In Loving Memory

 

 

Images & Voices of Hope is remembering the life and work of Robin Gibb with a lot of appreciation. He was a generous friend, speaking at an early IVOH conversation in Miami and a few years later at an IVOH conversation that he hosted at his home in Oxford, England. For many years he and his wife, Dwina, made their home in Miami available for our annual strategy meetings. The songs he wrote and sang were a gift to millions.

These powerful photographs by Tyler Hicks during one of the bloodiest conflicts of the Arab Spring document its expanding war zone and serve as a meaningful tribute to his friend and colleague, journalist Anthony Shadid, who died during this assignment.

East Kolkata Wetlands — A 360 View

In celebration of World Water Day, IVOH Thought Leader and award-winning filmmaker Sanjeev Chatterjee (One Water) launched the website, East Kolkata Wetlands - A 360 View featuring multimedia stories and videos that provide a particular perspective on the value of the East Kolkata Wetlands. Chatterjee spent six months working with students at Jadavpur University in India to interview all the stakeholders, including biologists, fish farmers, developers and families living near the wetlands.

It was hope that stopped me. It was hope that made me take a look. But then it always has. Last year, Roberta Baskin sent two notes to a journalism listserv to which we belong. Each had a group’s name in the subject line: Images & Voices of Hope.

And I was drawn to the word "hope."
