International Dialogue for Thought Leaders in Media: Journalism at Fetzer Institute, June 2008
IMAGES AND VOICES OF HOPE, in its 9th year, honored 16 journalists and documentary producers at the first International Dialogues for Thought Leaders in Journalism, convened June 12-15, 2008 at the Fetzer Institute in Kalamazoo, MI. The awards recognize that groundbreaking media work that has strong social impact often is the product of an individual or group guided by a clear, internal moral compass. Honorees from Bhutan, Canada, France, Serbia, Trinidad and the United States participated in a process of dialogue and deconstruction designed to extract lessons learned from their success. The goal is to capture and disseminate these lessons so others will be inspired and equipped to take on similar challenges.
