IRAN
Couscous Global asked American teenagers what questions they would like to ask their peers in Iran. In February, Couscous Global filmed the answers in Tehran. We talked to the new generation about music and theater; but also refugees, Ahmadinejad, Obama and weapons of mass destruction. The questions from American youngsters to the Iranian youth were answered on film and the comments posted to YouTube and our website.
We even featured two Iranian musicians, Maral and Nazila, our first music stars on YouTube!
SOUTH AFRICA
In South Africa we met kids from the townships of Soweto and surrounding areas. We talked about growing up as the first generation without Apartheid, the role of AIDS and the way South Africa is represented in the media.
CHINA
This month we organized a debate between students of the Gerrit Rietveld Academy, a well-known Dutch art school. Our Chinese friend Vincent visited Amsterdam with a group of high school students and helped us to organize a debate about teenage love in China.
STAY TUNED!
Our friend Pantea traveled to Iran recently and she'll make some movies about her daily life and those of her contemporaries over there. What else can you look forward to seeing? Think Persian New Year, the upcoming presidential elections and much more.
