Thought Leader: Keith Woods

 

Keith Woods  is the Vice President of Diversity in News & Operations at National Public Radio (NPR). He leads NPR's efforts to improve diversity in staffing, content, audience and the work environment. He joined NPR in 2010 and is helping to build a network-wide strategy that reaches more than 250 member stations.

Vu Thanh Thuy, a journalist of South Vietnam covering the Vietnam War, was awarded the Silver Star for Valor in War by the Army of the Republic of Vietnam in 1971, and the Best War Report by the Vietnam Press Corps in 1972.

Michael Skoler is vice president of Interactive at Public Radio International (PRI) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He brings people, ideas and funding together to launch new media ventures that entice, engage and include the public. Skoler joined PRI after a year studying unconventional business models for news while he was a 2009-10 Reynolds Journalism Institute Fellow at the Missouri School of Journalism.

Connie Schultz is a nationally syndicated columnist for The Plain Dealer and Creators Syndicate, and a regular essayist for Parade Magazine. She won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Commentary for columns that judges praised for providing "a voice for the underdog and the underprivileged."
