Swanee Hunt is President of Hunt Alternatives, which for more than three decades has advanced innovative and systemic approaches to social change at local, national, and global levels. The foundation is focused on bolstering women’s leadership in conflict regions, combating the demand for purchased sex, achieving political parity for US women in highest-level positions, supporting leaders of social movements, increasing philanthropy, and strengthening youth arts organizations. Dr. Hunt is the Eleanor Roosevelt Lecturer in Public Policy and founder of the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. A widely published researcher, columnist, and commentator, Hunt has authored articles for The New York Times, Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy Magazine, Global Post, and The Boston Globe, as well as three books: the award-winning “This Was Not Our War: Bosnian Women Reclaiming the Peace,” her memoir, “Half-Life of a Zealot,” and “Worlds Apart: Bosnian Lessons for Global Security.”
